So You Want To Start A Book Advent….

Welcome to the most flexible tradition on the planet! One that enables hours of togetherness during the holidays.

I knew when I had kids I wanted to start this tradition. When my oldest was born I had only collected around 10 Christmas books, so that is what we started with. He is almost 12 and now we have over 65 Christmas books in our collection and it grows each year.

The beautiful thing about this tradition is just how easy it is to make work for your family, here are some tips to get you started:

-Pick how many days you want to do. 24? 10? 12? It’s totally up to you. We start ours the day after Thanksgiving. But we didn’t start that way, start where you can!

-Wrap up some books. ANY books. They don’t have to all be holiday. They don’t have to all be new. They can totally be library books. We wrap up a mix of new and old favorites each year.

-Don’t worry about what order they go in. If you skip a day, don’t stress!

- My best tip? Wrap up all your holiday books at the end of the season. Use up the extra wrapping paper and don’t worry about storing it until year. PLUS next year you start the season ready to go, not with a to-do list!

That’s it. It’s that easy! Need a list of books to get started? Check out this post!
